I decided to make a game

I’ve always played a lot of games

The moment I reached Grandmaster in TFT

I’ve played all sorts of games for a long time, ever since I was a kid, and even now the first thing I do after work is turn on a game.

TFT Grandmaster, 1,500 hours of PUBG, all kinds of RPGs: I’ve spent my life playing games, and playing them hard.

I work at a game company, but…

I work as a developer at a game company, yet I had never actually made a game. My whole career has been in blockchain, so I don’t know much about game development.

Just thinking about it vaguely, the barrier looked far too high to get over alone: not only building the game itself, but illustration, 3D modeling, sound and more.

The age of AI

A MapleStory roguelike I made on my own

Times have changed a lot. Exaggerating a little, if you have an idea, you can make a game, and development that used to take ages has become far easier.

Not long ago I briefly worked on a project at work about making games with AI, and it showed me how much is possible now. Maybe I could make the game I want, too.

The video above is part of a MapleStory roguelike demo I made after work around that time.

What I’m making now

The card game I'm making now (all art and UI are placeholders for now)

These days I’m making a roguelike card game. (It’s still very much a prototype, though.) In a small 3D room, you draw cards, customize their stats, play matches, move through a scenario… I’m building whatever ideas come to me.

The goal: release a game on Steam. Whether it’ll be this card game, I don’t know yet.
